The fascia of a business

In the body fascia surrounds, supports, and penetrates every structure and tissue.

It is used as a system for mechanical support and production of movement. It also serves for listening to body position and tissue tension.

It is intimately involved in the perception of the needs of our internal environments.

How do you know when you need to use the restroom?

The filling bladder stretches its surrounding fascia. The fascia communicates the change in tension to the brain like a spider’s web telling the spider where a fly is.

It is also intimately involved in the perception of our external environment.

If you close your eyes while walking, how do you know if you are still walking on solid ground? How do you know if it’s flat grass or becomes a cement hill?

The fascia in your feet, ankles, and therefore entire body distorts as a result of the ground forces that enter the system. The brain combines this input with the information from the balance center of the ear, processes it as a whole dataset, and determines both the shape and texture of the ground and how to best move upon it.

Fascia embeds our bodies, connects us with our needs, and helps us move to meet those needs.

The equivalent system in a business is marketing.

Marketing is listening to the changing needs of specific market.

Marketing is building something that meets the needs of the people it serves while honoring the needs of the business itself.

Marketing penetrates every layer of a business, from purpose to people to profit.

You as a person look the way you look and move the way you move because of your fascia. People can recognize your gait from 400m away. Your fascia is your logo. Your fascia influences your brand.

Your fascia markets for you.

Marketing is the fascia of your business.
